CRM Jewelers and Lucenzo Danzando Kuduro
We were dancing Kuduro this week at CRM Jewelers when our new client, Luís Filipe Oliveira (a.k.a. Lucenzo), came by our Downtown store to buy a custom diamond bezel for his gold Rolex Day Date II.
Lucenzo is a French singer-songwriter and producer of Portuguese descent who skyrocketed up the Latin music charts with the remake of his English-Portuguese dance hit Vem Dançar Kuduro with Big Ali. The new creation was a collaboration between the talented Lucenzo and the popular Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Don Omar. Similarly titled, Danza Kuduro, the song is a multilingual Spanish-Portuguese explosion of rhythm that has made it extremely popular in Latin cities like Miami all over the world. It is difficult to frequent a nightclub in South Beach or a special event, like a wedding or corporate party, that does not play the artist's hit.
Those of you who have been hiding under a rock or dwelling in a cave for the last few years and are not familiar with Lucenzo's #1 hit might wonder what the heck Kuduro means.
Kuduro is an upbeat energetic music style and dance that originated in Angola in the 1980s and is popular in Africa, Lisbon and Portugual. Its up-tempo beats can be heard playing across Portugal's Latin dance floors and thanks to artists like Lucenzo, now throughout the globe. For you trivia buffs, the word comes from the Portuguese "cu," which means butt, and "duro," which means hard. Put the two together and you get...?
Luzenco was super cool, down to earth, and humble; charateristics that we value immensely and attribute a great portion of our success to.
Thank you Lucenzo for visiting our Instagram page and watch store. We wish you continued success in your music career and hope you enjoy your upgraded watch. Make sure to pay us a vist the next time you're in South Florida.
